Lithuania
Lithuania is one of the countries traditionally taken as an example of high erudition. On the one hand it is proved by a high percent of population with higher education (4th place in European region). On the other hand it can be proud for the most ancient university in Europe, which is important for Indians who want to get fundamental university education.
Nowadays young Indians are dreaming of getting education in Lithuania, especially in such specializations as medicine, design and international relations. Technical specializations are also very popular among Indian students and they are offered by many English –language programs created specifically for Indians. They include information sciences and nanotechnologies, laser science and biotechnologies, as well as other modern sciences.
The higher education institutions are of two types: universities and colleges (non-university higher education institutions). Studies are organised in three cycles: bachelor studies (in universities) or professional bachelor studies (in colleges), post-graduate studies and doctoral studies.
Full-time and part-time studies are available.

Klaipėda University was founded in a geographical area unique from the economic, cultural, and geopolitical aspects, i.e. on the Lithuanian seaside, boasting the only port of Lithuania: at the national level, attempts are made to develop Klaipėda as a metropolitan centre and to increase the international competitiveness of Lithuania as a maritime state. Since 2008, Klaipėda University implements the State Programme of an Integrated Research, Study, and Business Centre Marine Valley for the Development of the Lithuanian Maritime Sector and thus consistently consolidates its leadership in the fields of marine sciences and technological innovations.
Klaipėda University started its academic activities with three faculties (those of Marine Engineering, Pedagogy, and Humanities and Natural Sciences) and about 3,000 students. It celebrated its 25th anniversary with 4,500 students in the Faculties of Marine Engineering and Natural Sciences, Humanities and Education Sciences, Social and Health Sciences, as well as in the Arts Academy, the Institute of Continuous Studies, and the Institute of Baltic Region History and Archaeology. Over the 25 years, the academic staff of the University has increased from 300 to nearly 700 teachers and researchers, including 59% PhDs and/or recognised artists.

Architecture
A dynamic, innovative and practical at the same time, programme is implemented through Studio method – study courses are integrated into a single complex task: students learn architecture-related principles of drawing, composition, physics, materials strengths, etc. and apply directly in the project they are working on. Another exclusivity of the programme lays in the historical, cultural, theoretical and philosophical critical analysis of existing typologies, associated with the design of aesthetic prototyping which integrates constructions, mechanical, ecological and economic research.
This extended undergraduate programme leads to the master’s degree (5 years programme)
